Immune Supporting Bioflavonoid Honey

Combining herbal practices with your daily routine can lead to beautiful things. This citrus-y, brightly flavored honey makes for a wonderful and impactful addition into any morning tea.

Key word:

Bioflavonoid - found in foods/herbs, this compound helps to strengthen cell walls to keep pathogens from invading. It is especially plentiful in citrus skins.

Ingredients:

  1. The skins of 2 citrus (can be the same, or a combination of 2 different types), sliced

  2. Minced fresh ginger

  3. 1/4 cup of rosemary

  4. 1 cup (or more) of honey

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients into an 8oz (or larger) jar, then cover the herbs with honey.

  2. Cap the jar, and label it with the date of preparation as well as the herbs inside, then let sit for 4 weeks.

  3. Once it has macerated for the 4 weeks, strain the herbs out and reserve the honey to use daily for immune system support.

Optional: you can also add garlic or horseradish for an extra kick - just be prepared for the taste!
